The
Institute of Public Works Engineering Annual Trade Exhibition &
Conference |
|
For
the first time, the annual Institute of Public Works Exhibition was held
in the Royal Agricultural Society grounds alongside the Sydney Olympic
Stadium. It was also the first time that Nextep has exhibited our
range of product at this prestigious event.
To demonstrate just
how unique and versatile the Nextep Miyama products are, we teamed up with
two other leading organizations that are also users of our products.
Aqualift Pty Ltd a water reservoir cleaning and refurbishment contractor
and B.R. Durham Pty Ltd, a leading ductile manhole cover, gal steel
grating and concrete product manufacturer.
As can be seen from
the attached photographs, the variety displayed by the combination of
three separate companies was an obvious hit with exhibition visitors
and organizers alike. In our inaugural showing at the premier engineering
product exhibition, Nextep Australia was judged as the winner of the
"Best Small Stand" award.
Being the premier
engineering exhibition, the visitors were of exactly the type of clientele
we are trying to attract. This was evident with the number of serious
quotation inquiries received in the week following the close of the
exhibition and we look forward to following up our first year's effort
with an improved display at next years exhibition.
The next exhibition
where the range of Nextep Miyama products will be displayed is in Mackay,
North Queensland. This is a mining based trade show that should also prove
to be a winner for Nextep, as our products have already been proved
as the quality alternative for use in highly corrosive areas, such as the
mining industry.

For
two days in mid-October Nextep was invited to attend a local government
trade exhibition in Brisbane. The exhibition was directly focussed on
local government suppliers and engineering contractors. The Nextep stand
created an impressive amount of intention, so much so that Bill Allan
and Chris Andrews were interveiwed by a local radio station with regard
to what is is we were manufacturing.
The
bright yellow FRP ladder was the highlight of the interview and
undoubtedly will become a popular item for the local government
community. The non-corrosive properties of the ladders, grating and
manhole covers were aspects of the Nextep Miyama range that was well
received by the government engineers. |

The
first official trade exhibition attended by Nextep Miyama (Australia)
concluded as an overwhelming success. Held annually in the heartland of
the Australian coal fields, the township of Muswellbrook is
situated approximately 3.5 hours drive north west of Sydney. The Hunter
region is a conglomerate of open cut coal mines, underground coal mines,
power generation stations, and all of the ancilliary industries
associated with the mining & energy industry.
As
the only exhibitor of polypropylene step irons, FRP grating or manhole
covers, the Nextep stand was always a point of interest. To date we have
already received orders for our products from mines outside of the
Hunter region, and we are currently in discussions to export our product
to the gold mines of Papua New Guinea. |

What's
UP from DOWNUNDER!

The
latest addition to the Miyama Corporate Group, Nextep Miyama
Pty Ltd (Australia), has opened it's doors in new premises just
outside metropolitan Sydney. With an existing client base to service
throughout Australia and New Zealand, the learning curve for the infant
of the group has been steep.
"Clients
have been eagerly awaiting the release of our Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) recommended
step irons and
ladders" says managing director Chris Andrews and adds "We
have brought a whole new standard of quality and variety to a
market that has a real need for our solutions".
The
initial sales leading area has been Queensland, through long time
distributor Bill Allan and Barry Aplin of Fabfit Pty Ltd, Brisbane,
there has been a great acceptance for the use of the Nextep Miyama
product in quality projects. The latest project undertaken by Nextep
was to supply GRP grating for sump pits and trenches within the newly
constructed high-tech Ingham's chicken processing plant in Brisbane.
"The fats and acids would be too corrosive for ordinary
galvanised steel grating, and stainless is an uneconomical
option" says Bill Allan. From this project interest and orders
have been received from the largest prawn hatcheries in the
southern hemisphere.
An
award winning Gold Coast civil construction company, South East
Excavations has integrated the use of the Nextep Miyama step irons
into the largest residential construction site in Queensland. The
Casuarina project required step irons that would be suitable for the
highly corrosive coastal development. Several thousand steps have
already been installed in stage one of twelve stages to be developed
over the next ten years.
